The Bakery: A Jam Night of Improvised Soulful Beats – Free Entry

Sunday 23rd February

19:30

Free Entry
The Bakery is a jam night focused on improvisation and explores a diverse selection of genres including hip-hop, jazz, neo-soul, Latin, pop, house, techno, garage, DnB, and experimental electronic music.

The first set will see the house band: Alby Daniels (keys, vocals, synths, sampler), John Wright (bass, bass synth), Aramis Gorriette (drums, SPD, triggers) and Luke Stone (guitar) weave their way through improvised progressions, re-works, and original material.

For the second and third sets, musicians are encouraged to perform with the house band; creating and improvising ideas that can start anywhere from a sample, drum beat, chord progression or melody. All instruments are welcome so bring yours along, and we’ll have a sweet bakery treat waiting for anyone that performs.

The music will be improvised, and any covers/re-works that are worked into the sets will not follow the original structures. Below is a list of tunes to give you an idea of the vibe to expect on the day.
